How can hypnosis help me with my challenge?

With the challenge you have, did you think about it, analyze it, and try to come up with a solution logically, and even were determined to fix it? But with no success?

You tried to solve it using your conscious mind. Did you try to solve it using your subconscious mind as well?

Having a hypnosis session with me is about learning to achieve a balance: the balance of using our conscious mind and subconscious mind.

Have you had the experience of working and struggling on a project/task for hours, with no success? After you tried, tried and tried, getting frustrated, and finally you quit. You went home from the office, and just while you were driving home, you had an idea or solution, the solution that seems to come out of nowhere. Ahh, you thought, look at all the hours I’ve spent struggling. I should have taken a break a while ago.

So exactly where did the solution or idea come from? Here is how it went: after thinking and using logics trying to solve a problem with no success, you finally give up. You gave up thinking about it consciously; you gave your conscious mind a break. Now even though your conscious mind is not focusing on it, you are not thinking about it any more, you subconscious mind is still working, just without you realizing it. The goal achieving subconscious mind is working and working until it finds a solution. When that happens, the solution pops into you conscious mind and you have it! Have you had that experience with trying to remember a name or something else?

So you see naturally we are using both our conscious mind and subconscious mind to come up with solutions.

And this is how hypnosis can help. So often we forget about the powerful part of our mind, the goal-achieving part. Hypnosis will help you get in touch with this powerful part that we are usually not consciously using. By utilizing your whole brain, you achieve results like never before!!!

Headaches, chronic pain, anxiety, emotional turmoil…

It’s all in your head! Or is it? Just get over it! Can you?

Have you had the experience that you reason with yourself that there is no reason to be so anxious and even if there is, being anxious is only going to make things worse?

But you can not control it, can you? Not your racing heartbeat, not the fear you feel.

Have you ever over reacted? When someone makes you mad, you get too mad. When someone makes you sad, you get too sad. Or things that are OK for other people to handle become too stressful for you? Have you tried to control your behavior because it’s illogical, you were acting like a child, and it’s affecting your relationships negatively?

I’ve been having this pain for 3 months (or all my life) now. I went to all kinds of doctors and went through all kinds of tests. My doctors say there is nothing wrong with me physically. But the pain just won’t GO AWAY! My wife says it’s all in my head. Or is it?

Our feelings and emotions reside in the unconscious and subconscious mind. Our will power resides in the conscious mind, the logical thinking mind. Whenever there is a conflict between our emotion and will power, the will power always loses. So there is a battle within yourself: the will power and logical thinking want to do what’s right for yourself and the people you love, but the emotions, habits, and limiting perceptions (all residing in the subconscious mind) get in the way! In turn, either we are constantly beating ourselves up, or we let emotions run our lives.

“What do I do with it??”

Using hypnosis, you’ll be able to get more in touch with your powerful subconscious mind. Instead of having our emotion and will power fighting against each other, instead of fighting against our emotion or being taken over by it, we’ll be able to let the emotion and will power work with each other. When they are working in harmony for a common goal, you achieve results like never before!!!

What is hypnotism?

Hypnotism is the professional practice of the hypnotic arts and sciences.

All hypnosis is actually self-hypnosis. It is not something I do to a client; it is something a client does for him or herself. The self-hypnotic state is a state of focused concentration that anyone can enter naturally. Hypnotists provide their clients with instruction in how to enter this natural state more easily and effectively. Then, the hypnotist functions as a teacher and guide to show the client how to use the self-hypnotic state to overcome whatever problem is at issue and/or make the changes you desire.

What can hypnosis do for me?

Hypnosis is a tool that can help you, just like it has helped millions of other people to take back control of their lives. Modern Hypnosis is a reliable way to move yourself toward success even when other approaches have failed. Hypnosis can be used to

  • change old habits and provide you with motivation to do the things that you may have been putting off
  • it has been sanctioned and used by the medical community since 1958 to help patients overcome chronic pain, create anesthesia, and heal psychogenic illnesses
  • reduce stress and stress-related illnesses
  • help women conceive and give birth to their children gently and comfortablely (to learn more about using hypnosis for fertility and childbirth, visit our website for HypnoBirthing Maryland)

Can Anyone Go into Hypnosis?

There is no magic to achieving success with self-hypnosis. Most people enter into a mild hypnotic state several times a day without realizing it, such as when driving a familiar route without thinking about it or when “zoning out” while engrossed in a movie or book. Almost everyone has entered the deepest hypnotic state using self-hypnosis without even realizing it. Have you had the experience that you were looking all over for your keys, purse, or glasses and finally found it at a place that you swear you've looked at before? How come the keys were right in your purse and you didn't see them? Because you were experiencing "negative hullucination", the deepest hypnotic state anyone can guide you into.

Can I Be Too Strong-Willed to Be Hypnotized?

Many people believe only weak-minded or gullible people can be hypnotized. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, the reverse is true – intelligent and strong-willed individuals are generally very successful with hypnosis. However, success with hypnosis has little to do with willpower. Rather, it relies on your ability to use your imagination, listen and follow directions.

Can a hypnotized person be made to do something he or she doesn’t want to do?

No, as hypnotism is something a person does himself or herself, it is logically impossible for someone to do something they refuse to do.

As a demonstration of this, reflect that hypnotism has existed as a body of technique for more than 200 years. If it were possible to use hypnotism to make people do things they didn’t want to do, hypnotists would be running the world. The fact that we are not indicates that hypnotism cannot be used for coercive purposes.

What hypnotism can do is enable a person to overcome resistance to doing what needs to be done in order to achieve what that person wants to achieve. It can help you get out of your own way and become successful, and it can help you stimulate your own natural healing power by soothing away the worries that interfere with that power.

Lots of people worry that hypnosis sessions will be similar to stage hypnosis or the ones seen on TV where people are made to impersonate chickens and the like. The fact of the matter is, no hypnotist can ever make you do anything you don't want to do. People do funny things for a stage hypnotist at a comedy club because they volunteer to go on stage; they expect the stage hypnotist to ask them to do funny things. If they really don't want to listen to the hypnotist's suggestions, they don't. For example, if a hypnotist asked you to do something immoral or unethical (such as hit somebody or rob a bank) you would reject the suggestion. You have the same free will to reject "silly" suggestions at comedy shows.

In fact, having a hypnosis session with me is about gaining more control of your life, about understanding both of your mind and let them work together for you!

Am I Asleep During Hypnosis?

No, you are not asleep during hypnosis. You are focused on your subconscious feeling mind instead of your conscious thinking mind. You must still be conscious in order to hear the suggestions. It feels very similar to the first five minutes when you fall asleep. You may hear the dog next door barking or be aware of someone else in the room, but you don't want to open your eyes or move. However, if you had to open your eyes and get up, you could, because you are not asleep and are always in total control.
